On the rocky top of the Black Mountain, conifers like Norway spruces, Scots pines and other pines… were planted some decades ago in the State and Municipalities forests.

At that time some people reacted when these species replaced venerable beeches.

But now, every winter, these evergreen trees are terrific under frost and snow.
