Leaves of oak (Quercus ruber), beech (Fagus sylvatica), chestnut (Castanea Sativa), ash (Fraxinus exelsior)… floating in the
water of the creek Le Sant.
As of spring, in the valley,
each of these small chemical factories produced the sugar molecules needed for
the big geants to grow, using sun energy and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
While they produced the oxygen needed for life on Earth.
Now they wait for rains to fall
and help them begin their long last journey. Some will reach the River Sor in the village of Soual, then the
River Agout in the village of
Vielmur-sur-Agout and the River Tarn.
Some will travel further up to the main stem La
Garonne after Toulouse and even after the Gironde estuary near Bordeaux, find the Atlantic Ocean.
